How our offices are organized

LIZADEEL aims to be a reference organization for the promotion and protection of vulnerable people, including children and women victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

As for its operation, it coordinates its activities nationwide. It also has provincial representations with 70 legal clinics and listening spots scattered throughout the cities, capitals and territories.

The Judicial Assistance Centers for Children and Mothers, acronymed CAJEMs, have been created since 1999. They are established as structures of reception, care and referencing of the victims. The city of Kinshasa alone has 12 juridical clinics established within the communal houses compounds. These centers are run by at least 120 psychosocial assistants, 78 psychologists and a collective of 72 lawyers, sympathizing and volunteer members.

LIZADEEL has an integrated social home in Kinshasa, consisting of a transitional Guest house and a four-sector Vocational Training Center including aesthetics, cutting and sewing, hotel business and literacy. Lizadeel has already trained several teenager girls, sexual violence survivors who are on the market either as entrepreneurs or as employees.
